Merinosheep, merinowool and breeding
De DutchMerino is, na 17 jaar gerichte fokkerij en selectie, inmiddels een mooi en gebruiksvriendelijk dier. Dubbeldoel, superfijne merinowol (tussen de 16 en 20 micron) en goede vleesdier eigenschappen. De ooien gaan in juli / augustus bij diverse rammen. Daarnaast hebben we ook een aantal hele mooie Australische merino bloedlijnen geïmporteerd.
We love our animals and our land. Our story is about caring for the environment and continuous improvement of animal welfare because happy merinosheep produce the best merinowool in the world! Through careful and non intensive farming methods, each merinosheep is treated as an individual with no flock wide use of dewormer or antibiotics.
Of all our individual merinosheep we know the genetype which is important for our live stock export to other Eu countries. All merinosires are genetype Arr/Arr.
Meanwhile we have succesfully exported merinosheep to Denmark, Belgium, Estonia, England, Scotland and Spain.
The DutchMerino is a perfect dual purpose animal that fits well in our country, but also has the ability to adapt well to different climates.

Onze focus ligt op het verruimen van de stapellengte zodat we 2x per jaar kunnen scheren (oogsten) De merinowol laten we verwerken in Italië en is als breiwol in onze winkel te koop maar we laten er ook merino kledingstukken in ontwerpen. Check our webshop for possibilitys
Our ‘Sires are selected for their fleece, staple length a well defined bold crimp, plain body and open faces. Dutch merino is a commercial stud producing quality Superfine Merino sheep for its own use and also for export to other EU countries.

Our flock of merinosheep are certified free of Meadi Visna and all of our merinosires are Arr/Arr.
